那須川天心 5戦目で初の王座挑戦［2024.8.22］

無敗の格闘家でプロボクシングWBA世界バンタム級2位の那須川天心（26＝帝拳）が転向5戦目で初タイトル戦に臨む。10月14日、東京・有明アリーナでWBOアジア・パシフィック・バンタム級王座決定戦の開催が決定。同級1位の那須川は同級2位ジェルウィン・アシロ（23＝フィリピン）と同王座を懸けて拳を交える。7月20日、当時のWBA世界同級4位ジョナサン・ロドリゲス（米国）を左ストレートでダウンを奪って3回TKO勝ちして以来、約3カ月ぶりのリングとなる。

同日、東京ドームホテルで会見に臨んだ那須川は「5戦目でこうやってタイトル挑戦できて非常にうれしくは思っています」と笑顔。国内で世界戦に臨むためには日本、アジア王座の獲得が必要との内規があるため、那須川は「世界を取るために、日本では東洋太平洋、WBOアジア・パシフィックのベルトが必要らしいので、その過程にすぎないと思う。いつも以上にやっていきたい」と気合十分だった。

　対戦するアシロについて「間、間でカウンターをしっかり狙ってくる。フィリピンの選手と聞いたので（元世界6階級制覇王者マニー・）パッキャオみたいな選手かと思ったのですけど…みんなパッキャオみたいじゃない」と印象を口にした。今回はバンタム級リミット（53・5キロ以下）で戦うのも転向後で初めてとなる。那須川は「ボクシングを1年半ぐらいしっかりとやってきて体もつくってきた」と減量面にも自信を示した。

　同興行はWBC世界バンタム級王者中谷潤人（26＝M・T）が同級1位ペッチ・ソー・チットパッタナ（30＝タイ）との2度目の防衛戦、WBO世界スーパーフライ級王者田中恒成（29＝畑中）が同級5位プメレレ・カフ（29＝南アフリカ）との初防衛戦、WBO世界フライ級王者アンソニー・オラスクアガ（25＝米国）が同級1位ジョナサン・ゴンサレス（33＝プエルトリコ）との初防衛戦が決まっている。

　また前日の10月13日にはWBA世界バンタム級王者井上拓真（28＝大橋）が同級3位堤聖也（28＝角海老宝石）との3度目防衛戦に臨む。前WBAスーパー、WBC世界ライトフライ級王者寺地拳四朗（32＝BMB）が空位のWBC世界フライ級王座決定戦に出場。同級1位として同級2位クリストファー・ロサレス（29＝ニカラグア）と王座を懸けて拳を交える。WBAフライ級王者ユーリ阿久井政悟（28＝倉敷守安）が同級15位タナンチャイ・チャルンパック（24＝タイ）との2度目防衛戦も決まった。WBO世界ライトフライ級王座決定戦も組まれ、同級1位岩田翔吉（28＝帝拳）が同級2位ハイロ・ノリエガ（31＝スペイン）と激突する。

Unbeaten fighter and WBA World Bantamweight No. 2, Tenshin Nasukawa (26, Teiken Gym), will compete in his first title match in his fifth bout since switching to professional boxing. The WBO Asia-Pacific Bantamweight title match is set for October 14 at Ariake Arena in Tokyo. Ranked No. 1 in the division, Nasukawa will face No. 2-ranked Jerwin Asilo (23, Philippines) for the vacant title. This will be Nasukawa's first return to the ring in about three months since his victory on July 20, where he knocked down then WBA World Bantamweight No. 4, Jonathan Rodriguez (USA), with a left straight and won by TKO in the third round.

At a press conference held on the same day at Tokyo Dome Hotel, Nasukawa smiled and said, "I’m very happy to be challenging for a title in my fifth fight." He also acknowledged that, in Japan, it is necessary to win the Japanese or Asian titles before competing in a world title match. "To take on the world, it seems I need the Oriental and Pacific, and WBO Asia-Pacific belts in Japan. This is just part of the process. I’m more determined than ever," he said with strong resolve.

Regarding his opponent, Asilo, Nasukawa commented, "He’s a fighter who carefully aims for counters in between exchanges. When I heard he was from the Philippines, I thought he might be like [Manny] Pacquiao... but not everyone from the Philippines is like Pacquiao." This match will also be his first time fighting at the bantamweight limit (under 53.5 kg) since transitioning to boxing. Nasukawa expressed confidence in his weight management, saying, "I’ve been seriously training in boxing for about a year and a half, and I’ve built my body accordingly."

The event will also feature WBC World Bantamweight Champion Junto Nakatani (26, M.T.), defending his title for the second time against No. 1-ranked Petch Sor Chitpattana (30, Thailand). WBO World Super Flyweight Champion Kosei Tanaka (29, Hatanaka) will defend his title for the first time against No. 5-ranked Pumulele Khaf (29, South Africa), and WBO World Flyweight Champion Anthony Olascuaga (25, USA) will make his first defense against No. 1-ranked Jonathan Gonzalez (33, Puerto Rico).

Additionally, on the previous day, October 13, WBA World Bantamweight Champion Takuma Inoue (28, Ohashi Gym) will defend his title for the third time against No. 3-ranked Seiya Tsutsumi (28, Kadoebi Jewelry). Former WBA Super and WBC World Light Flyweight Champion Kenshiro Teraji (32, BMB) will compete for the vacant WBC World Flyweight title against No. 2-ranked Christopher Rosales (29, Nicaragua). WBA Flyweight Champion Seigo Yuri Akui (28, Kurashiki Moriyasu) will make his second title defense against No. 15-ranked Thananchai Charunphak (24, Thailand). Additionally, the WBO World Light Flyweight title match will feature No. 1-ranked Shokichi Iwata (28, Teiken Gym) against No. 2-ranked Jairo Noriega (31, Spain).
