「どうすれば良かったのかはハッキリ分からない。考えすぎてパンクというか、もっとアドバイスとか、外からこうした方がいいとか、チームとしてこういうことを徹底しようとかが欲しい。チームとしての徹底度が足りなくて試合展開を握られるということがゼロじゃないし、この大会でも少なからずあった。ボランチとして、プレイヤーとして、チームのために考えないといけないし、その思考は止めないけど、そこの決定権が僕にある必要はないのかなと思う。あくまで僕は最後の微調整だけでいいのかなと。担っているものを重荷には感じないけど、もっと欲しい」
ピッチ上の選手だけで対応するのにも限界がある。劣勢の展開の中でもっとベンチからの明確な指示があっても良かったのではないか。守田はハーフタイムについても「僕が決めたシーンとか、ラインコントロールとかの映像を見て、こうしよう、ああしようという話はあったけど、深いところまではいけなかった。前半、嫌な感じで逃げ切ったような感じでロッカーに戻ったけど、後半、フレッシュな感じでピッチに出れたかというとそうではなかった」という。
「何かが足りないのか、やろうとしていることが多くて、むしろ捨てていくべきなのか、一つに絞っていくべきなのか分からない」。苦悩を深めるボランチは「ゴールキック一つ取ってもそうだし、もっといろいろ提示してほしい」と、主体的なサッカーを進めるうえでのビルドアップに関してもチームとしての作り込みが足りていないと感じているようだ。
「結局、だれが出てるかの人次第、質次第になっている。チームとしてやろうとしているスタイル、チームとしての哲学があっても、そこに差は必然的に出てくるものだけど、こういうことをしようというものがないと、受け身になり始める。相手の雰囲気だったり、同点ゴールを決められて、オフサイドだったけど追加点も取られそうになって、僕自身を含めてボールを握るのが怖くなる」
選手の臨機応変な判断でスムーズに対応できればいいが、ピッチ上が混乱しているときにチームを落ち着かせ、試合の流れを変えられる選手がいなかったのも事実。「文句みたいになって申し訳ないけど、選手はできると思う」。そう強調した守田は「僕が目の前の選手に対してターンして顔を上げてボールを蹴れたり、そういうことを世界のトップ選手は当たり前にできる。そこは真摯に受け止めないといけない」と、自身の課題と向き合いつつ、チームへの要求も口にした。
「チームとしてどういう動かし方をして、どこを狙っていくかというのはもっと明確にしないといけないし、それ(そういう課題)があるのに個のところで負けたというのは逃げだと思う」。言葉を選びながらも歯に衣着せず、自身の本音を打ち明けた。

I don't feel burdened by what I carry, but I want more," he expressed.
Handling everything on the pitch has its limits, and Morita suggested that more clear instructions from the bench could have been beneficial even in challenging situations. Regarding halftime, he mentioned, "We watched scenes I decided and analyzed, like line control, but we couldn't go deep into it. We returned to the locker room in the first half, having escaped with an uncomfortable feeling, but in the second half, I can't say I returned to the pitch feeling fresh."
"There's something missing, trying many things, maybe we should abandon some, or should we focus on one thing? I don't know," expressed the struggling midfielder, emphasizing that there needs to be more guidance from the bench for proactive soccer, feeling that the team hasn't worked enough on building up.
"In the end, it depends on who's on the pitch, the quality. Even if there's a style as a team, a team philosophy, differences inevitably emerge. If there's no attempt to do something, you become passive. It becomes scary to control the ball, especially after conceding a tying goal, where an offside goal seemed to be scored, and we were almost conceding an additional goal. I start to fear taking control," Morita elaborated.
While it's ideal for players to respond smoothly with flexible judgment on the pitch, the absence of a player who can calm the team down and change the flow of the game during chaos was evident. Morita acknowledged this, saying, "I apologize for sounding like I'm complaining, but I believe the players can do it." He stressed that top players worldwide can naturally turn, lift their faces, and kick the ball. He concluded by facing his challenges while demanding more from the team.
