アップル 9/9に新型iPhone発表か［2024.8.27］

米アップルは２６日、９月９日にカリフォルニア州クパチーノで恒例の秋のイベントを開催すると発表した。新型ｉＰｈｏｎｅの発表が見込まれている。

また、今後のｉＰｈｏｎｅ販売の鍵を握るとみられる人工知能（ＡＩ）機能をどのように新機種に統合するかが明確になる見通し。

アップルは６月の開発者会議で、音声アシスタント「Ｓｉｒｉ（シリ）」などのアプリに生成ＡＩ（人工知能）技術「アップルインテリジェンス」を導入すると発表。米オープンＡＩと提携し、「チャットＧＰＴ」を製品に取り入れると明らかにした。

ただ、現行モデルでチャットＧＰＴに対応するのは「ｉＰｈｏｎｅ１５ Ｐｒｏ」などのみで、年内に新たな基本ソフト「ｉＯＳ１８」で利用可能になるとしていた。

ライバルのサムスン電子やアルファベット傘下グーグルは最近、新型スマホと併せてＡＩ機能を発表しており、アップルは競争激化に直面している。

イベントの招待状によると、今回のテーマは「It's Glowtime」だが、詳細は明かされていない。同社は秋のイベントで新型のｉＰｈｏｎｅや腕時計型端末などを発表するのが恒例だ。

In June, Apple announced at its developer conference that it would introduce generative AI technology, called "Apple Intelligence," into apps such as its voice assistant Siri. The company also revealed that it had partnered with OpenAI to integrate "ChatGPT" into its products.

However, only the current models like the iPhone 15 Pro are compatible with ChatGPT, and the feature is expected to become available with the new iOS 18 operating system later this year.

Rival companies such as Samsung Electronics and Google, under Alphabet, have recently announced AI features alongside their new smartphones, presenting Apple with increasing competition.

According to the event invitation, the theme this time is "It's Glowtime," though further details have not been disclosed. It is customary for the company to unveil new iPhones and smartwatch devices at its fall events.
