西武が85敗目 屈辱の球団ワースト［2024.9.13］

西武は４連敗でシーズン８５敗。西鉄時代の１９７１年に記録した球団ワースト記録を更新した。

ドラフト３位・杉山遥希投手が、プロ初登板初先発。四回途中、自身の２失策も絡んで６失点とほろ苦いデビュー戦となった。

　初回２死二塁から浅村を投ゴロに打ち取ったが、ボテボテの打球で焦ったのか、一塁へ痛恨の悪送球。二回、三回は無失点でしのいだが、四回に捕まった。

　浅村、安田の連打で無死一、二塁から伊藤裕の犠打を悪送球。渡辺佳、村林に連続適時打を浴びたところで降板となった。

　杉山は「今日の登板に向けて自分にできる最大の準備をしてきました。５回を投げきりたいと思いマウンドに上がりましたができず、悔しいです。やはり、自分のピッチングができないと一軍ではプレーできないと感じました。今日の収穫としては、ストレートや変化球で空振りが取ることができたので、一軍で通用する部分はあったのかなと思います。悔いの残る登板になりました」とコメントした。

　打線は楽天を上回る１２安打。六回に外崎の２点二塁打、七回に西川のソロで追い上げたが、ビハインドが重すぎた。

　４０勝８５敗で借金４５。歴史的低迷のシーズンは、残り１６試合となった。

Seibu suffered their fourth consecutive loss, marking their 85th defeat of the season, setting a new franchise record for most losses, surpassing the previous record set in 1971 during the Nishitetsu era.

Haruki Sugiyama, the team's third-round draft pick, made his professional debut as a starting pitcher. However, his debut turned bittersweet as he allowed six runs, including two errors of his own, before being pulled in the fourth inning.

With two outs and a runner on second in the first inning, he managed to induce a grounder from Asamura, but a crucial throwing error to first base allowed the runner to score. While he escaped unscathed in the second and third innings, he ran into trouble in the fourth.

After back-to-back singles by Asamura and Yasuda, with runners on first and second and no outs, Sugiyama made another throwing error on a sacrifice bunt by Itoh, leading to more runs. He was then pulled after giving up consecutive RBI hits to Watanabe and Murabayashi.

Sugiyama commented, "I prepared as much as I could for today’s game. I wanted to make it through five innings, but I couldn’t, and that’s frustrating. I realized that unless I can pitch my game, I won’t be able to play at the top level. However, I was able to get swings and misses with both my fastball and breaking pitches, so I think there are parts of my game that can compete at this level. Overall, though, it was a disappointing outing."

Despite Seibu's offense out-hitting Rakuten with 12 hits, they couldn’t overcome the large deficit. Tonosaki’s two-run double in the sixth and Nishikawa’s solo home run in the seventh helped close the gap, but it wasn’t enough.

With a record of 40 wins and 85 losses, the team is now 45 games under .500, and there are only 16 games left in what has become a historically poor season.

✅ 2年前のファイターズを見てるみたいだが、西武には好投手が多いし、野手もいい選手がいる、でも攻撃がつまらない。色々批判されたが新庄野球は見ていて楽しい。もちろん失敗もあるが大技小技を随所で織り交ぜて得点を狙いに行く。そんな姿が今の西武には見えない。
途中まではいい試合をしてるのになぜか最後は負けている。パリーグを盛り上がるためになんとか再建してほしい。
✅ 組織の中で仕事をしている方なら経験があるとおもいますが、人事異動後に急速にある部門が機能しなくなり、以前まで当たり前にできていたことが、突然できなくなる場合があります。
大体の場合は、その部門の新しい統括者が自らの役割を理解できず、必要な処置を取っていないからなんですね。
ライオンズの不振もそんなところでしょう。
慣れと惰性で仕事を進めるのではなく、それぞれの役割をしっかり果たすよう、方向付けるリーダーシップが必要です。
やり方によっては、急速にチームを立て直すことは可能と考えます。
✅ 西武の1塁手は野村大でしょう。身長が高くない選手が一塁手では、送球がちょっとずれただけで捕球ミスとなる。初回の投手のエラーとは言うがあれぐらいの球は捕球してやってくださいよ。ベースは踏み忘れるわ、キャッチミスはするは、選手のプレーの質の向上も必要ですね。
